The Army in Court.
CPer Press Association.) KLTHAM, April 26. At the Magistrate's Court, before Mr A. Turnlbull, S.M., t-h-is morning, a case against, n Salvation Army oflicer, charged with obstructing a thoroughfare, was dismissed wu-nout prejudice. A point raised by counsel lOC the Army was upheld, viz., that the inloiuim'tion having been laid before a J.P., who is also Mayor of the -boroulgh, and -in whom the streets are vested, rendered the whole case invalid. The only precedent quoted was Ryun v. Sta-Woivl, in winch Chief Justice I'l-eivdengust Quashed a conviction. A fresh information will be laid.
