AUSTRALIAN TRAGEDY.
A BUILDER SHOT DKAD, April 25, 1.11 a.m.) SYDNEY, April 24. A sensational tragedy lias occurred ut Leichardt. A feud involving legal proceedings had existed for considerable time between Alfred Russell, a plumber, and Steward, a local builder and alderman of the borough, over a bouse Steward was building for Bussell. Yesterday evening RusselY awaited steward's return from the city am} walking within a lew paces shot him dead through the head in the presence of several He then quietly walked away. When M-rested a largp steel plate was found across his breast. He explained' that this was n precaution as be feared Steward would shoot hiflU In congruence of Russell's threats Steward was always armed< i His dead hand grasped a fully loaded revolver partly withdrawn from his pocket.
