'■' General" Booth, head of the Salvation Army, is organising an Imperial labour bureau with the object of sending emigjra'nta from the,'"sul)rnerged tenth" districts to those Quarters where they are most need- . ed. To develop this scheme a sum of £1,000,000 will be required. He hopes the British and Canadian Governments will subscribe £50,000 each, anil the Australian and South African States similar sums. The " General " visits Australia in a few months' time, with the object of entering into negotiations with the various Seate Governments. AUSTRALIAN REPRESENTATIVES' OPINIONS. Copeland, Agent-General t lor New South Wales, interviewed, £ ; regarding General Booth's proposals, said that the Sftlvationists ought to begin with the unemployed, a considerable sprinkling of whom there was ready in Australia, owing to the drought.
