Unhappy Councillors.
MAGMATICAL I'ALMEItSTON POPULACE, (Per Press Association.) PALMEItSTON N„ March 30. A public meeting ol citizens tonight expressed disapproval of the conduct of the local borough council, and called upon the members to resign in a body. Asphyxiated. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, .March 2<J. Emily Maiclon, a nurse. v.as found unconscious in her bedroom yesterday. The room was full of gas. She was taken to the hospital, and died last evening. Death was caused by gas-poisoning, but how the gas came to lie turned on in the room is not known. The gas jet in Miss Manlon's bedroom was found turned full on, but not lighted, and evidently had been so for some time as' the room was lilled will] gas. There was no ventilation, the window being closed. It is quite certain thai death was duo to gas poisoning. A post mortem will be held to-day„ Miss Mardon was twenty-nine years of age,
