CiOVERNOH JACKSON GOING HOME. BRISBANE, March 28. Tho Mlpwera lias arrived from Vancouver, Sir H. M. Jackson, Governor of Fiji, and his family were passengers. Sir H. During his trip he will consult the Cotton-Growing Association ivith a view to.inducing them to devote attention to cotton-growing in Fiji, where ho considers it could be advantageously carried on. sir 11. M. Jaskson stated that I the service might be something in 1 connection with Fiji. If so, he j would soon be back again; If it I was in some other part of the Umpire he hoped, when he hod performed it, ho would be sent back to, Fiji to finish the work lie had begun. He declared the old movement in favour of federation with New Zeeland wan dead, and the natives were now thoroughly contented with the administration. During the present year a new departure would be made in the selection of a Council of (iovcrniucnt.
