OPUXAKE. (From Our Correspondent.) The Opuimke volunteer lire brigade held their third annual social on Thursday night in the Town Ilnll. Although tlio night did not look very promising, about 50 couples went to tlie hall fur a good night's amusement. Dancing was kept lip till eleven o clock, when supper was announced. A good supply ol' cakes, tea, coiYec, etc, was provided, which everybody enjoyed. Dancing was colliinued till the small hours of the morning, when all went home, satislied I hat they had spent a very pleasant evening. (Ireat praise is due to the secretary. Air 11. Mann, who, willi a good working committee, left nothing to he desired. Messrs T. \V. Wallis and U. (luy carried out their duties as M.C.'s to the letter, while Mr ,1. liuumplircys supplied excellent music. 'l'lie takings at the door exceeded expectations, and will lielp to swell the funds of the brigade, which has plenty of room for improvement regarding proper appliances in case of lire.
