Taranaki Regatta.
The above fixture takes place 011 the Waitara ttiver 011 Thursday next and judging by the excellent nominations received in many events the river port should be crowded with visitors on thai day. Hitherto there has been a good deal of sameness about the programme, but no complaint can be made on this score now. Outside crews from Mokau, Arumoho und Wnngaiitii will assist to make the annual outing both interesting und enjoyable. For the Senior Fours Outrigger Itace, crews representing Star (Wanganui), Aramoho, Union (Wanganui), and two crews from the Waitaru Club have entered, and judging by the recent ruciffg at the Wellington regatta, a good finish must be anticipated. Visting clubs have also entered 111 other outrigger events. Five entries have been received for the Champion Whaleboat Pace, those competing being Arnmoho, Mokau, Waitara, Clifton, and Tikorangi. The Flying, for which there are four entries, should also prove a very interesting race. The oilier events have all tilled up well. An additional item 011 this year's programme is "the best decorated boat," and as the ladies have, when the occasion arose, shown that they can display good tnsto in this particular line, the procession of decoraled boats should be an ilem worth seeing. tinite a number of ladies have expressed their intention of being competitors.
