For Auckland and North per l!a----rawa at 7 p.m. SATUHDAY, MARCH 10. For Auckland and North per Tukapuna at 7 p.m. For Australian Slates, etc., at 7 p.m., due Sydney March 25. For India, China, Japan, Straits Settlements, Ceylon, Continent of Europe and United Kingdom via Suez (for correspondence specially adhressed only) at 7 p.m., due London May 1. Mails for Karatonga ami Tahiti, per Taviuni, close at Auckland on March 22, at. 1 p.m. For Fiji per Jloina, close Auckland on March 23. Mails for Auckland, Campbell, Antipodes and Bounty Islands close at Mull about March 17. The public are notified that newspapers over Boz, which it is desired may lie sent by San Francisco or Federal routes must be specially superscribed and prepaid at the rate of Id for the first four ounces ami for each succeeding 20/. or fraction thereof. NOTE.—Letters for United States of America should be prepaid 2Jd per half ounce. NOTICE. Berne notifies that private telegrams originating in Japan, Formosa, Japanese stations in Fusan, Seoul and Chcinulph must be written in clear language in either Japanese, English or French. Private telegrams from Korean stations for Japanese officers in Korea, and for other countries, which pass over Japanese lines, are accepted when written in plain language in Japanese, English, or French. Private telegrams in secret language, emanating from Tokio, Yokohama, and Kobe, are admitted on production of code, accompanied by an explanatory note, written in Japanese, French or English. All telegrams passing over Japanese lines in Julian or Korea are accepted at the sender's risk. SPECIAL SOTE. On and from Marcli 1, 1901, the postage on newspapers to and from the Inifed Kingdom will be reduced to ono penny per paper, irrespective of weight, subject to these conditions :—All newspapers exceeding ozs in xcight prepaid one penny are to be forwarded by direct steamer only, Newspapers not exceeding Boz prepaid at the penny rate may be forwarded by the San Francisco or Federal mail service, or direct, etc. Newspapers exceeding Boz, if prepaid at existing rates, 1.e., a penny for the first four ounces and }d for each succeeding 2 ounces, may be sent by the San Francisco and Federal mail lines. Wholly unpaid papers are 1o bo detained and advertised as in the caso of printed papers. When more than ono newspaper is enclosed in the same bundle the postage on each newspaper must bo nilixed in stamps, otherwise the parcel will be surcharged ut printed paper rates and sent on by direct steamer.
