New Plymouth Exhibition.
A meeting of the exhibition committee was held m the Town Hall hist evening. His Worship Die Mayor presided, ami the following gentlemen were present. : -Messrs M. J. .Jones, .J. C. Morev, C. Carter, ]■:. U. Tribe, A. W. Wood, W. A. Uollis. W. Ambury, E. Dockrill, J. Pnlon. (i. IT. Morgan, N. K. MaeUinrmid, IT, Goodacrc, F. T. Ilcllringcr, 11. Eraser. S. Percy Smith, W. Newman. .1. W. Wilson, W. li. Skinner. The matter will be referred to the native attractions commiUrc It was decided to approach the Education Hoard and the Hoard of School Commissioners with a viewto obtaining the Centra! School and St. .Michael's Square, and .Messrs Carter, Collis, and I.eiinoit were appointed to wait on the Education Hoard, it being understood that .Mr Cock would represent the matter to the commissioners. On the suggestion of .Mr Carter a committee consisting of Messrs Allsworth, Spencer, MacDiarmid, Collis, Morgan. Wood and (ioodacre was set up to formulate a scheme for a school-work competition, a report to be forthcoming at next meeting of the committee. Messrs W. 11. Skinner and S. Percy Smith gave their views on the question of a Maori village, being of opinion that the sclmme would be feasible. After an informal discussion on various parts of the arrangements, the meeting adjourned.
