(Special to News). AUCKLAND, Feb. 19. Horses.—There was an average entry ami a good sale. Heavy draught colts and fillies made £29 5s to £47, aged and worn £7 to £2B 10s, medium axil express horses £2l to £BB, 10s, good hacks and harness •" £l7 10s to £3O, light and ordinary £6 10s to £ls. At Remuera beef was in full supply, but prices a bit easici-, steer selling at 22s per lOOllis, cow up to 20s. Stnep in moderate supply made lower prices. Wethers 12s to 18s 6d, ewes 9s to 14s 3d, lambs 6s 6d, to I2s, store ewes 6s to 9s 3d, lambs 5s 2d. Pig?— Stores and porkers sold freely at 7s to 30s. WJRNSIDE STOCK MARKET. DUNEDIN, Feb. 18. At the, Bunuide market 128 head 01 fat cattle were, yarded, about two thirds being unfinished steers. The market opened at about last week's rates, but as the sale progressed prices improved to the extent of 10s to 12s per head. Best bullocks made £lO to £ll 12s Gd, medium £7 10s to £9 10s, light weight steers £5 10s to £6 15a, heifers £5 10s to £6 10s. Fat Sheep.—l63s were penned, consisting of good wethers and heavy ewes. Bidding was lively throughout at an advance of 2s per head on late rates. Best wethers made 18s 6d to 21s 6d, Hgftter weights 16s to ■l7s 9d, best ewes up to 2Cs 3d, medium 15s 6d to 17s 6d, Fat Lambs.—B62 were penned —somewhat in excess of requirements, and but for exporters coming to the rescue, lower values would have had to be accepted. Best totality 13s 6d to 14s 9d, and a small line of extra good 15s 3d, medium 10s to lis 6d.

-Pigs.—ls2 Rere yarded. The market was somewhat easier, especially for heavy baconere. Quotations : Baconers 47s to 525, porkers 33s to 48a, choppers up to 60s, good stores 23s to 30s, slips 17s to 225, suckers 12s to 255. ABMNGTON STOCK MARKET. There was a large entry at .Aiddrngton, and a good attendance of buyers. Fat Cattle—The yarding of fat cattle totalled 149. No lines of special quality were entered, and lighter sorts were more plentiful than usual Tliere was good demand for butchers, and the market was Arm at piices equal to from 21s to 25s per 10011/s. Steers realised from £6 10s to £lO 10s, heifers £5 15s to £8 12s 6d, cows £5 to £9 15s. Fat Lambs.—The yarding totalled 3638, and was composed of mixed Quality. Freezing buyers operated only sparingly, and the market was in conaxnience weaker, prices being ls a head' below rates ruling the previous week. Tegs made from 15s to 15s 4d, freezers 12s 6d to 14s 9d, unfinished lots 10s> 6d to 12s. Store Sheep.—The entry of store sheep numbered 9844, and intruded sheep from the North Island. C'hattiams, Kaikoura and other districts. There was a brisk demand and ready aale for all good sorts. Prices ranged as follows :—Lambs from lis 6d to 8s lid, wethers from 15b 6d to 13s 3d, Marino 6s 4d, ewes 16s 8d to 9s Od. Store Cattle.—A fairly large mixed yarding. There was rather better demand.

Fat Sheep.—Tire entry was only moderate, both ;n numbers and HKialrty. It included a few small lines of first-class wethers. The market opened well, hut dragged towards the finish. On the whole recert prices were well maintained. I%e range was:—Best wethers 19s 4d to 225, others 15s 6d to 18s 9d, best ewes 16s 6d to 19s, others 13s to 16s.

Pig?.—The entry of fat pigs was en average one, ami prices were on a par with those ruling the previous week. Baconers brought from 45s to 565, equal to 4Jd per lb, porkers -33s to 42p, «iual to s}d per lb\ Stores were well represented and met with a good market, farmers buying several lots to feed on stubb'c. A line of fifty Chatham Islanders brought from 33s to 38s, other lots sold at from 280 to 345, for large, and 20a to 25s for medium, weaners from lis to 17s.
