N. Ilmttle. 'I he liev. F. A. lleniietf pri«enled the report of tho sub-committee appointed to arrange for the Visit to New Plymouth of the Aus\ralasian Student, Christian Union. It statfd that willing hospitality had been extended to 57 students and seven lecturers, and that the summer school had proved most enjoyni le and useful. Much gratification was expressed with (ho report. The Uev. .1. N. liutile moved and 1 , liev, F. (!. Kvaim seconded t'he following resolution': "That this council accords its most grateful acknowledgement to the 'm ar , v IneiiiV; who furnished hospliUlitv lo the students and lecturers during t.Tiir stay in the town." The resolution was carried with much heartiness. .On the motion of the Hev. J. N. Buttle the thanks of the council were given to 1 .»• suh-rommiltee and especially to the Hev. F. A. llenuett. and Mr Walter Ambury the acting secretaries. Mr (i. 11. .Maunder moved " That the Council take steps to prosecute aggressive work in the ; town. esj.ecially in connection with the Christian training of the .VMiug." The resolution was carried, and a sub-eoni-mittee elected to consider the bust means of carrying it out. Air H. (londacre moved " Tli at. this council endeavour to arrange for It?. .Im (it acting in our imMic schools." Tin* liev. |.\ (;. la.mis seconded t : .e motion. After a lengthy de!)at.e, in which all lhe nieinS;ers prusenl look j;tu-t, the motion was carried. Mr llood.icre then moved " That the matter he referred to the Minisli'iV Association for t : [.'ir consjdeia:'.;iom." The Hev. J. N. Buttle, in a brief speech, proposed the following resolution : That the New Plymouth Council ol the Churches expresses its strongest protest, against the action of the Itailway Department in running trains on Sunday in coune..-! ion with the conveyance of a circus company on Feb. 7." This was secondid by Mr (/. 11. Maunler, and carried with perfect unanimity, The session of the Council then closed with the Benediction.
