A Nonchalant Bankrupt.
(Per Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, Feb. 9. Timothy Clifford, a bankrupt who had ordered material for a house the name of '•T.'L'lifi'ord" (which was taken for the signature of another settler) and had erected a building on a Government leasehold where it was free of the claims of creditors, was again before the Deputy Ollil.-iai l Assignee to-day. The matter had been adjourned to give the debtor time to arrange to I>orrow on hry building for payment of creditors. Clifford said he had made no attempt to raise the money, and he would pay wfhen his family grew up. He would give the assignee authority to raise a loan on his property, and it was resolved that criming proceedings be taken against him.
