Miss Betterton Clover found scope for her nihilities in tHe part of the heroine, which calls for a largo reserve of nervous energy, and Mr Basil Leon as Harry tilyndon, the 'persecuted hero, identilied himself faithfully with the character, Mhilst Mr Paul Uillord earned the emphatic opprobrium of the pit in the villain part of Jack Clyiidon. Simeon l.azatus, a Jewish moneylender, found a capable exponent in Mr Peter Savieri, who nsod (lie clmracler for all it was worth, causing much hearty laughter by his whimsical pourlrayal. llr J as. Martin was entrusted with t)io pivn of Owen dyadon, the stern deceived] fail'her, and ho comported himself with (he dignity necessary to the role, while Miss Kate h'oote, as Mrs Glyridon, made the most of her part. Miss lOthel Gibson played the faitWul boy Ned to the life, and was particularly good in the 'dcutt'h scene. Tfie :other parts were capably sustained.
