St. John llrodrirk, Secretary of StMte for India, stated in) the House of Commons that it Was not intended to annex any portion of Thibet, The present negotiations by Colonel Yoiingluislnund weiv only intended to prevent a recurrence of old dilliculties. Karl Percy, Parliamentary UnderSecretary for Foreign Affairs, stated that coniiiiunieutioiis had passod between (i ivat llritain aitd Russia prior to the organisation of the expedition to Thibet.
