A MINE MANAGER FINED. SYDNEY, Feb. 2. For negligence in carrying out the regulations under the Coal .Miners' Act for the protection of miners a mine manager at 'South Greta Colliery had his ceriilicate .suspended for 12 months, and was mulcted in £•10 costs. ARBITRATION COURT. NAPIER, Feb. a. At the Arbitration Court to-day \V. W. Barllc was charged with various breaches of the Painter's Union award for working on Saturday afternoon and on Labour Day ami at various times at less than the award wage. The informations were ciismitwvd. An information against Williams Bros., painters, for failing to gave preference to union workmen was also di.sm.iss«l. Evidence was takon with regard to the typographical dispute in respect to linotype and mono-line operators, ami also with regard to the bookbinders' dispute.
