(Received Feb. 3, 1.3 a.m.) LONDON, Feb. 2. The Right Hon. A. J. Ballour is suffering from an attack of iuflueaza. He was unable to attend his own Ministerial dinner, and is now confined to his room owing!to a in temperature.

(Heceived Feb. 2, 9.47 p.m.) LONDON, Feb. 2. Applications to renew the Bank of New Zealand four per cent, debentures, now maturing, exceed one million sterling. (It will be remembered that the directors of the Bunk of New Zealand decided to redeem £1,000,000 of debentures placed iit London, and reoffer a second million for a further term).
