—. —-•—~ An inquiry was held at Battersea recently concerning the death of Eliza UoLurts, 48, a. widow, lately of Cam'borne Road', Wandsworth. A witness said that Mrs Roberts entered her house a fortnight ago and said, "I am bro.loen-hearted, aiid shall taike poison to-night." Later on she called again, and sard, "1 have tatov oxalic acid." The witness did not believe, her, but when the woman threw a bottle and glials at her feet she sent for assistance. Walter Chipping, widower', a (grooiu-gbrdcniT, of Broithway Road, said that Mrs Roberts was' "after him." In consilience 04" her habits he had told, her not to come ul'ter him again. 'When she did come to the house again he ordered her out. The medical evidence showed that the woman died from oxalic acid IKiisoninig.
