The Borough Council has done the right tiling in rdqiuesting the Mayor to co-nvetie a public meeting for Friday evening to discuss) tl»e matter of providing uttractiuns for the holiday season. 'lthe movement is otne which has our hearty support, tending us it d»H'S to improve Uusiiness during tile summer s'easioii, am! also to attract to the town country settlers, tourists, and residents in our ■inland towns. New Plymouth is »n Kleai holiday resort, as has been repeatedly pointed out, but the people here have been strangely Inactive in the matter of advertising their natural resources and beauties. This project of a huge summer carnival is one that will do much to give the town the advertisement it undoubtedly Renin's. As his Worship observed at the Council meefimig on Monday tiie residents arc nt last Uli Hp laying interest in this matter, atnd there are inu'ily suggestions as to the best manner of providing the amusement aind cntertaimnpnt so urgentlv needed.
