Tho executive of the New Zealand Panniers' Union met to-day, wiicn a letter was received from the head ollico conveying a petition in favour of granting the freehold to Crown t-enants and reqjuesting the executive to dist-rj&itu the snmo among' branches in the province. Tlie executlvu considered it inadvisable to adopt this course and referred tho letter back to tho head oftlce.
