This i»ece was entirely dill'eront in plot anld locale from the two plays preoticliing, being htid lamoivg live liiiherfolk of New England ill the Staites. Tl,e plot is a strong one and full of action. In ■fact, all the plays presvtrted by Mr Sianford jiossess those inlinimlble qualities, <|ttickness of action and
startlviig climaxes. "Tempest Tossrat" tells a story of a (la,ushter's devotion to a drunken father, and points a strong moral lessen. The tbirel act hlwws a realistic wieek oil tue open sea. The players were at their best. Mr Sivnfoed as Tom Preston realised the lisJieriiimi to (.he life, anil rose' to the demands of the role. Mr Knnkel as .lui'bez Hazard guve a very good character im.nerso'iuatirai of the drunken father, a most exacting part. Miss l.uuru Wall streng'lhcnyd the favourable impressiun made ipi the two preceding evuninigw, and played the leading role most effectively. Orillith Winy again played a comedy part in Cy L/oivg, tin-'coun-try bumpkin, and was very nmtushig. Mr Hart. Wallace dcmoiWiultiJ that he is a eo'iikdin-n of experience, and y>ve u:n iwjoyaible performance ol'tlv one hgig.d sailor. Even the small purl of .lake Smith in the bands- of \V. .liinn.sitii.iii was a chW»<'ctttriuatio'n. Mr A, I.', Henderscm pluvcd the Intriguing Richard Weirtworth with ■dive subtlety.
