Howell took four wickets for 70. New South Wales in their second innings lost live wickets for 82—Mackay 25, Duff 51. QUEENSLAND v. NEW SOUTH WALES. Received 30, 9.4 p.m. SYDNEY, Dec. 30. The match provided am exciting finish, result'Uijf in a win for New South Wales by two runs. With eight wickets down, Queensland re■quiired three to win, but the two Last wickets went for nil. Queensland's second insrahjgs totalled 290, the ahiief scores being Foster 131, MacDonald 22. ' WANGANUI v. NEW PLYMOUTH. Scores in this, match, played at Wanganui, are as appended.' The fielding of the New Plymouth team is described by the Obronicle as superb, none better having been seen W Wanganui.
