They followed on, and have lost 2 wickets for 62. (New South Wales made 624 in their first innings). HAWKE'S BAY BEATS WELLINGTON. NAPIER, Dec. 22. The Wellington v. Hawke's Bay Cricket match was concluded today, the local team winning by 96 runs. The Hawke's Bay captain declared the second innings, closed when the score Stood at 231 for 9 wickets, thus leaving Wellington 257 runs to get to win. This they failed to accomplish, the last wicket falljng with the total at 160. Staples 31 not out, Kirkcaldie 31, Brice 24, and Nowall 20, were the chief scorers.
