Municipal Baths.

AT TE HENUI. At the Borauigh Council meeting on Monday evening, the I-leniii Baths Committee reported that the.y met on Saturday, 12th inst, when Crs. Burgess and Bell-ringer, Messrs Messenger, Lepper, Ewen and Coleman were present. Cr. Bellrimjfer was appointed clnviriimn, and it was resolved that the bath house be opened on Thursday, the 17t:h inst., at 2.30 p.m. A ladies' committee was set up, consisting of Mosdivmes Kwen, Dockrill, Bellringer, Lepper, Messenger, Coleman and S. Hill to arrange afternoon tea. Mr Foleman was authorised to arrange with the Garrison Baind for their atten,kance at the openilng ceremony, and it was (decided to arrange games on the salnids tor the children. The committee decided- to invite the Mayor and Councillors to take part. Mr Coleman was authorised to fix a gateloc'k with thirty keys, ainul Mr Messenger was given the general oversight of the Ba*ths. The charges for .season- tickets were fixed as follows Heads of families and -adults, including key, 5s ; and persons under 16 years-, 2s- (kl ; keys to Ije returned at end of season.

Cr. Bellrhi'ger presented the report and m«y\"od its adoption. He said the ladies' committee had mude arrangements for the tea, and the Garrison Band had signified its willingness to attend. J

Councillors suggested that boys siboul'd not be allowed to use the ■baths on Thursday afternoons unless accompanied by parents, in order to encourage family bathing.
