THE AUSTRAL WHEEL RACE. Received 13, 5.25 p.m. MELBOURNE, Dec. 18. The result of the Austral Wheel Race was :—Scheps, 16Qyda, 1; Hawker, 300 yds, 2 ; Meyer, 820 yds, a, Scheps shot out in the last lap and won by 15 yards. Forbes, the New Zoalander, who injuml his leg during the week, gave up In tne second lap. Time, 4min 27sec. Scheps also won the Victorian Mile Race from Walker in 2min 14 l-ssec.
