Veterans' Home.
(Ver Pr«ss Association.) AUCKLAND, Dec. 10. The Veterans' Home was opened by the Uovenior to-day in the prcßence of a very large assemblage. The proceedings were of un interesting character, including' speeches by His Excellency, HigM Hon. the Premier, Sir .I.JCi. Ward, tin* Miayor of* Auckland and Sir William liussell. TKlo (lovernor presented war medals to meiiHiers of the Bth, V>th. and 10th Con!indent. The Piviiiier unveiled* tablet erected in the Home as a memorial to New Zealanders who fell in the South African war.
