Hawera Presbytery.

At Hawena the Presbytery of Taranaki met on Thursday, Dec. 3, 1908, for ordinary business. Tliere were present Rev. S. S. Osliorne, Moderator, Messrs. Hutson, Bertram, Philip Ministers. Commissions in favour of Thos. A. Bridge, John Irvine, Win. , McFarland, awl M. McFarlane, eklers, were read and sustained. ltev. W. White, M.A., was appointed Moderator for the ensuing six months. Mr Webster reported favourably of InglewTOOd. Mr R. Waugli has rosin nod work at Opunake. The appointment of Mr Maidment to the district of Wbaiignmoinona by the Church Extension Cominitteo was approved of. The congregation at Eltham forwaided a call to Rev. James John" ston, Fortrose, Southland, which was accepted by him. The Induction of Mr Johnston to the pastoral charge of the church aind congregation at F. Itham will take place on I k*. 18, 1903, and the Presbytery will meet for that purpose at 1.80 o'clock. The Presbytery adjourned to meet again at Hawera on the last Thursday of February, 1904, at 1 o'clock, for ordinary business.—Star.
