Taranaki County Council.
The Council met on Monday, there being present Mr H. Okey (chairman), and Crs. Brown, Hopson, Hill and Gray. FOREMEN'S REPORTS. These were read and various requirements authorised. STONE SUPPLY 5 AT WAIPUKU. The Railway Department is to be asked to deliver stone here at the usual price, it having put in a siding which cut the Council off from the river bod. JUNCTION ROAD REQUIREMENTS, The foreman (G. Walker) reported on stone required. This totalled 2550 yards, about £9OO in value. Tenders will be called for 200 yards to be hand broken. SAND. TROUBLE, It was decided to request the Railway Department to prevent the encroachment of sand on to the county road at Moturoa, The drift of sand on the l pad through Spots wood was referred to the Hoods Department, FOOTPATH AT lIENTJI. The llenui Road Board wrote asl* ing that the control of the lootpafchs be ihanded over to the board. The county solicitor (Mr ,1. B. Roy) reported on the position, and it was resolved accondingly that the request could not be acceded to. WATER MAIN AT FITZItOY.
The borough engineer notified that as the wafer mains would shortly be laid from the Bftspital Road to the abattoirs he desired to know if the Council proposed any alterations in the levels of the road. —The information had been supplied. MINISTERIAL REPLY.
The Minister for Public Works replied that a f>etitioai signed by ratepayers in the south-western portion of the Taranaki county, ns/lc(ng the OovenuiWiivt to provide a £ for & subsidy on £3OOO to re-grade the worst hills on the Main South Road, would receive consideration when the Supplenißiitary Estimates were con-t sid'erod,
