Income Tax Claim.

(Per Press Association-) WELLINGTON, Dec. 7. An action-, brought by the Commissioner of Taxes against, the Eastern Extension Telegraph Company for the purpose of determining the Company's liaibility to be assessed fo>- income tax, was commenced before Mr .Justice Cooper to-day. The Commissioner claims that the Company is liable to assessment on the not profit on a contract made with the New Zealand Government, the source of which was the payment of the money in the colony.
