Vickers and Stevens report that there was a large entry of cattle in their Inglewood yards on Wednesday last, and most lines changed hands at the following prices :—Calves £1 5s to £1 15s, yearlings £1 17s 6d to £2 18s, yearling to 15 months £2 12s Gd to £3 ss, empty heifers £3 10s to £4 3s, 2 to 2i year steers £4 to £4 4s 6d, store Cows £2 15s to £4 12s Gd, springers £4 15s to £7, bulls £3 to £5 Bs.

At Tarata on Tuesday there was a fail entry of cattle, and nearly everything was quitted at the following rates :—Yearlings £2 lis Gd to £2 15s, 15 to 18 months steers £3 12s, empty .heifers £3 lis to £3 15s, store cows £4.

At the horse fair on Friday there was a good entry. Unbroken harness horses maide from £9 to £23, hacks S4 17s 6d to £lO, harness horses #lO to £37 10s. MESSRS BEWLEY AND OJUFPITHS PRODUCE REPORT. NEW PLYMOUTH, Dec. 2. Messrs IVewley and Griffiths, of New Plymouth, are in receipt of the following London report, dated 23rd October BUTTER. Since our last advice the market has been steady, with a little more trade doing in best grades. Danish.—Firmer on the week, rind the Copenhagen quotation has been advanced. Australian.—The first of tho new season's butter arrived this week per s.s. Himalaya. The quantity was small, but quality was particulars good. Oattlo.— At the Newmarket yards [ an Tuesday there was an average muster of dairy and store stock, and a full supply of bettf. Dairy cows sold from £5 10s to £9 10s, empty do. £2 18s to £4 14s, calves £1 lis to £3 14s. Bidding for beef was scarcely up to last week's prices, ox selling up to 235, and cow from 18s to 21s per 1001b. Fat steers made from £7 5s to £ll 10s, fat cons £4 17s Gd to £7 15s.

Sheep were yarded in full miinbei'S at Newmarket on Tuesday. Competition was keen, fat wethers selling from 12s 6d to 80s, fajt ewes 10s 9d to 24s (id. There was a very large yarding of sheep, but many of them were not well finished all. Lambs, in full supply, sold from 10s 9d to' 19s 9d for wall done ; other sorts 5s !>d to 10s.

We quote dairy cows from £5 5s to £B, empty do. £3 10s to £4 15s, grown steers £5 17s to £6 17s Gd, l'at cows £5 os to £6 12s Gd, fat steers £8 5s to £ll 10s. Owing to the incident of the wool sale, the usual weekly sale of hide, skins, etc., was not held on Tuesday.

Wool. —The first sale of the season was held on Tuesday, Dec. 1, under the auspices of tlie Auckland Wool Brokers' Association. The total offerings were about 1894 bales, of which our catalogue comprised 904 bales. There was the usual attendance of buyers, anld budding was fairly good in the face of the 'depressed reports from London, which indicate a fall of from 10 to 15 per cent, in coarse, and from 5 to 10 per cent, in fine crossbreds. The condition of the wool was on a par with previous years, and there was a slight improvement in the get-up of clips. Owing to the late unfavourable weather, vjurious lots failed to reach us in time to bo catalogued. The following is a range of prices as compared with the operatic stale of last year : . 2 - 1902.—Fine crossbred s|d to GR medium do. 4*d to sd, coarse do. 3id to 4Jd, inferior and Joirstained 3id to 3f d, pieces and bellies M to 3fd, locks ljd to 2jd. 1 ' 1903-—Fine crossbred 6sd to r|d, Shropshire to Bd, medium crossbred 6d to 6fd, coarse crossbred 5d to s l'd, inferior and loestamed 4d to 4Jd, pieces and bellies <Jd to 4}d, locks ljd to 2jd. The well known CC brand of Messrs Chamberlain Bros, was pass., cd in at 9(1 per lb. Maize.—All shipments of prime were cleared at 2s 3d on wharf.' The low price has induced large sales. Oats.—"B" grade in s'Hort supply Chaff and Wheat.-*o alteration in the market. Butter.—Separator and dairy still m fair supply, but there is no improvement in prices to record. We 'quote very good separator from Gd to 7d, poorer quality 5d per lb. Chees?. No change to report. Large factory worth s|d, mediums Gd, and loaf 61 d per lb. WELLINGTON GRAIN REPORT. WELLINGTON, Dec. 2. Mr F. Pownall, of the N.Z'. and Canterbury Farmers' Co-op. Associations, Wellington-, reports as follows, all quotations being f.0.b., port of shipment, sacks extra, unless specified : Oats.—Outlets in all directions ara 'being sought after to relieve stores, though vendors are handicapped through early shipments of discoloured grain, which 'has weakened confidence in repeat) orders. Potatoes.—New, fill all requirements, kidneys having dropped to 8s b.i., round 6s b.i. Sorted, ol'd Derwents, are closing o-ut at 2s ftd s.i.

Maize.—Turnover is fairly good northern holding at 2s 5d 1'.0.b., si. Argentine 2s lid c.i.f., s.i.

Barley.—Common feed has light ixxjuest at 2s Gd, malting 3s 9d, [>earl barley £l3 10s b.i., pig-meal £6 10s, s.i.

Beans.—Hors«ibean« are quiet at 3s 4d, business bei'n-g confined to limited exports Home.

Peas.—Partridge are quoted at 4s, with few available ; Blue Prussians 5s 9d, split peas £l3 10s, b.i. Bran—Remains at £2 10b s.i., with stocks adeiqjuate.

Pollard.—Finds eager buyers at £2 15s s.i.

Oatmeal, Standard brands cost £8 s.i. for 25's, with no noar prospect of revival. Rolled oats £l2 c.i.f., s.i.

Chaff. Heavy oat-Sheaf sells reaidily at 55s s.s., lighter ctrts 50s to 52s 6d s.s. Supplies are being withheld, but values are not likely to harden with advancing season Straw chaff is lifeless at 40s s.i. Hay.—Demand has slackened, fresh' feed being abundant. Rye-olover offers at 555, all clover 00s, pressed sliaw scarce at 355.

Crass Seed. Itye, dressed, varies fiom 3s 8d to 4s 6d, cocksfoot 3id to 4Jd, whits closer 92s 6d cowgrafts 755.
