A Press cable from London states that MilHiurn's new steamer Port Jackson has been launched. A new Pacific line between Tacoma, Vancouver, 'and Australian ports is contemplated. A new passenger steamer being built for the Huddart-Parker Company is to be called the Australia, making the third large steamer of the same name in the Australian trade. Captain Jensen left Waitara for Auckland on Tuesday evening, for the purpose of b'ringtin-g down the new steamer Tainui for the Mokau trade. Mr Ogle is also in Auckland to take over the vessel.
