Borough Council.
The Council met last evening. Present : His Worship the Mayor (Mr R. Sock), Crs. Wood, Burgess, Brooking, Collis, Carter, Bellringer, Tisch, and Edmunds. BALANCE-SHEET.
This, as audited, wus presented, a tag 1 being attached that an item of £134 16s, for expenses of the commission for adjustment of matters in connection with the Honui bridge, should be charged to current account instead of loan, as had been done.
The balance-sheet was adopted, and the Mayor and (Jr. Tisc.li were appointed a committee to interview the newspapers regarding the puMic-) at'ion of the document. GENERAL.
.Several minor matters were dealt with, the business being of a routine character. ABATTOIRS.
The Council then held a conference with repi-esentativcs of the butchers, in connection with rules proposed to govern the working of the abattoirs. It was decided to write to Nelson and Napier for information.
