Rigid Dairy Inspection. (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 30. The cows supplying dairies which furnish the city are being tested for tuberculosis by the Department of Agriculture. On Thursday eighteen cows were slaughtered by order oi Mr T. MacPherson, Inspector, and to-day twenty-one were destroyed. On one farm seven out of twelve cows were condemned, and the inspection generally promises to be lalarming. The inspectoral staff is determined' to stamp out tuberculosis in Canterbury. Arrangement's are being made to have all dairy cattle submitted for sale at Addirugton tested before being' put up tor auction. The work of investigation and destruction is to be carried out in the most complete and drastic manner, and inspectors hope in a few months' time that the district will be quite free from the disease.
