Captain Nixon, of tr.e wrecked barque Northern Momtrck with h;s daughter (Mrs Nixon, wife of the second officer) and her husband, was to leave Wellington for Sydney on Saturday by the Moeraki. The Northern S.S. Co. forward a neatly printed pamphlet of the scenery to be viewed in the cightdav summer trip to the north of Auckland, which will be made r.y the Ngapuhi in January next. The Rarawa is due from Cnehung'a this morning. The Gertie left Westpoit on Saturday evening for New Plymouth with a cargo of coal, arriving here Inst evening. The scow Surprise is in port, having on board a cargo cf 65,000 feet of tinVber consigned to H. Brown and Co. The scow Rover arrived on Saturday evening, also loaded with timber, for the Sash and Door Factory Co. Both vessels came from Kaipara. The splendid weather yesterday induced a number of fishermen to put out to various spots along the coast varying success being met with.
The Taar&naki Freezing Works Co.— The s.s. AthenHc will be the next steamer for dairy procuce, leaving Wellington on Dec. 10th. and will be followed by the s.s. Rimutaka on Dec. 24th. The closing deys at the Moturoa Freezing Works will ba as follows :—for s.s. Athentic, Wednesday, Dec. 2 ; for s.s., Rimutaka, Wednesday, Dec. 16th, at 3 p.m.
