High School Sports.

The annual sports promoted by the scholars of the High School, assisted 'by friends, were held en Thursday afternoon in the grounds. There was a good attendance of parents and friends of the boys and girls, and the weather being pleasant an enjoyable time was spent. Several of the mem/bcrs of the Board of Governors attended, and assisted the headmaster, Mr E. Pridham, and second master, Mr H. H. Ward, in getting the events through. Afternoon tea was thoughtfully provided by the girls of tlie school, and was, needless to say, much appreciated. The various events were well contested, though no startling times were registered. Results were briefly as follows One Mile.— R. Ambury, ser., 1 ; R. Quiliiani, 60yds, 2 ; S. Griffiths, 100 yds, 3. Ten .started. Half Mile (open).—C. Clarke, 70 yds,- 1 ; L. Horrocks, scr., and V. Rundle, 20yds, dead heat, 2. Ten competed.

Quarter Mile (scratch race for Shield presented by old boys).—ll. Ambury, 1 ; J. Dockrill, 2 ; G. Russell, 3. Five ran. 220 yds Old Boys.-L. Horrocks, 9 yds, 1 ; J. Frnser, 17yds, 2 ; E Osborne, 16yds, 3. Five started.
