Motor Madness.

ACCIDENT AT TEMUKA TIMARU, Nftv. 26. A sensational accident occurred at the Temuka Cycling Sports to-day. Clarke (Christchurch) set out on a 31 h p. motor cycle to do an exhibition mile. He rode a qliarter of a mile in 21scc. Then he lost control, and wont over the banked track at the south end. In the fall the machine struck a post, and Clarke was thrown several yards. He fell on his face and chest, and was picked up in a semi-conscious state, bleeding very freely. Medical aid was quickly at hand. No bones were found to bo broken, but Clarke lost a lot of blood, and was suffering greatly from shock. It is hardly known yet what the real injuries are, but he was able liefore being taken to Temuka to sjieak freely to the doctor. Clarke was riding about 50 miles an ■hour when the cycle ran off. Tho machine was buckled, and was almost in pieces.
