Onehunga, Not. 25.—Sailed Rotoiti, lor New Plymouth, at 4.10 p.m. Manukau Heads, Nov. 25—Sailed Rotoiti,.l'or New Plymouth, at 6 p.m. Wellington, Nov. 25.—Sailed, Takapnna, for New Plymouth, at 6 ; p.m. It is understood that when the new I turbine steamer, now building for the Union Company, arrives at Tasmania, the Pateena will be sent across to New Zealand. The complete sailing dates for the Union Company's new steamer Manuka are as follows :—She is to leave Plymouth on the 27th inst., taking passengers for Capetown, and is due at Melbourne on the 3rd or 4th January. She will leave Melbourne on the* 6th, and should arrive at Port Chalmers about the 12tk. It is probable that the New Zealand and African Company's steamer Rippingbani Grange will leave Wellington for South African ports, jrla Sydney and Fremantle, about Bth November. The head office of the Union Steam Ship Company has been advised that the Miowera, which was withdrawn from the Vancouver mail service some months ago in order to undergo alteration, overhaul, and refitting at Brisbane, has left that port for Sydney, where she is again to go into commission in the Vancouver running, sailing from Sydney on the 30th inst. Her recent overhaul has been a thorough one, and she is now practically a new shirj.

. A writeo in the Sydney Referee has something unsympathetic to say aibout the proposed oversea cruise of Mr Buckeridge in his Kia Ora. The writer sa3 - s he has had experience »f ocean sailing in small boats, and makes his opinion clear that there is "nothing in it." From the scraps of conversation tossed about among sea-faring people anent Tilikum.Voss and Co., it is to be gathered that the sailor view of the matter is just about the same. iiobody here knows the Kia Ora. Her name is reminiscent at the ducal ship Ophir, but it is to be surmised that there is no real resemblance. Some men gain notoriety by riding bicycles round almost perpendicular fences, others by diving off masts into wat-er-bags, and still others without any apparent cause. The last-mentioned deserve sympathy, the others none. Surely it would be easier to become famous by wearing one's clothes inuide out and one's boots on one's hands, and far less dangerous. New that Mr Buckeridge's definite intention of going Home in his tub is announced, the mariners of the colony will wish him luck, but little sympathy will be forthcoming in the event of disaster.

The TaJ'anaki Freezing Works Co.— The s.s. Athentic will be the next steamer for dairy procuce, leaving Wellington on Dec. 10th, and will be followed by the s.s. Rimutaka on Dec. 24th. The closing days at the Moturoa Freezing Works will be as follows :—for s.s. Athentic, Wednesday, Dec. 3 ; for s.s., Rimutaka, Wednesday, Dec. 16th, at 3 p.m.

Maori, left London 3rd Oct, via Capetown, Hobart and Auckland ; due abou*. 30th inst. Tokomaru, left London *Sth Oct.. via Capetown and Hobart; dua 18th Ilec.
