During the month of September Scotch shipbuilders launched 30 vessels, of about 31,913 tons gross, as compared with 34 vessels, of about 73,585 tons gross, in August, and 33 vessels of about 57,862 tons gross, in September last year. For the nine months Scotch shipbuilders have launched 221 vessels, aggregating- about 031,254 tons gross, as against 231 vessels, of about 396, 570 tons gross, in the corresponding period of last year, and 207 vessels of about 395,426 tons gross, in 1901. English builders in September put into the water 27 vessels, of about 60,733 tons gross, against 27 vessels, of aliout 64,176 tons gross, in August, and 27 vessels, of about 60,127 tons gross, in September last year. For the nine months English builders have launched 223 vessels, of about 47 ; 9,623 tons gross 1 ,- as compared with 206 vessels, of about 545,347 tons gross, in the corresponding period of last year, 206 vessels, of about 709,113 tons gross, in 1901, and 200 vessels, of about 538, 309 tons gross, in 1900. One vessel, -of about 4000 tons gross, was launched last month at Belfast. There have fbee» launched in the United Kingdom -during the past 9 months 453 vessels, totalling about 884,797 tons gross, as compared with 448 vessels, of aljout 1,039,287 tons gross, in the corresponding period of last year, 421 vessels, of about 1,209,530 tons gross, in 1901, 439 vessels, of about 956,416 toms gross, in 1900, and 487 vessels, of about 1,067,143 tons gross, in 1899.
