Miss Ada Crossley.
DUNEDIN, Nov. 19. A most enthusiastic reception was accorded Miss Ada Crossley at His Majesty's Theatre. Despite the worst of weather the House was a record one, and nearly 100 of the overflow from the stalls were accommodated on the stage. The charming personality of the singer completely won the audience before she had sung a note, and her beautiful vocalisation could not be heard enough of. M(sm Cross ley gave in all eight songs, showing l wonderful (lower of expression in ballad singing, rendering well-known airs with most exquisite feeling. Her company is a particularly strong one, and the verdict was unanimous that a generally liner concert has not been given in Dunedin. The young violinist, Jactques Jacobs, delighted the audience with his skilful playing. Many beautiful and costly floral tributes to the great contralto were conspicuous on the platform.
