It is rumoured that Mr Bradley, the owner of Wairiki, has asked the C.J.C. to re-open the question of the New Zealand Cup running, in connection with which McCombe, the rider of Canteen, was disqualified for two years. In the meantime, the big bookmakers in Christchurch and Wellington are not paying tho doubles on the Cup and Stewards' Handicap until Canteen's owner receives the stakes.
