THE STRATFORD CONGREGATION TROUBLE. ACTION OF PRESBYTERY UPHELD. I)U\KDI.\, .Sov. 17. iliu I'icoio Lei iuu Assembly went into committee un the recent S tratiord congregation trouble, and on resuming adopted t-he following re* port : (1) Assuming the session proceeded legally, they hud sufficient grounds for removing names of the parties concerned from roll membership ; (2) that the procedure oi the session was in harmony with the laws of the churches ; (3) in answerto a petition of the Stratford Kirk Session and Managers' Committee the committee unanimous! y found the whole of the Presbytery's action was sufficient to lead the Rev. Hutson to think they entertained a prejudice against him. This impression wing really caused by the Presbytery s ignorance of church law, and the I resby-tery throughout was sirvceiely desirous of promoting poace and prosperity of the Stratford congregation ; (4) in the opinion of tho committee, the request of the Presbytery for tile appointment o-f « Commission of Assembly should bo declined as valueless. of 1]'!? adopted the report of the Church Union Committee recommending the Assembly to remit to Presbyteries ami Kirk S Jns I „ t qU , t T t ' on 08 t0 ""Aether they are t»i eeable to the Assembly negotiar tug with Methodist and Congregational churches with a view to unpoiicy'' a " ' ,aHis °* doctrine and The Assembly was brought to mc ose to-night.
