Lady Ranfurly's Farewell.
WELLINGTON, Nov. 14. Prior to Lady Kanfurly's departure this afternoon, the Mayor, on : behalf of the citizens of Wellington, presented Her Ladyship with a beautiful illustrated album and an illuminated address. The latter expressed the regret felt at Her Ladyship's departure from New Zealand, and tire keen appreciation of the manner in which she had discharged the duties connected with her position. Lady lianfurly, in reply, cordially thanked the citizens for their kindly expressions of opinion, and assurvd them that if during the -six- happy years she had spent in the colony it bad been her great privilege to be associated with any movement for the benefit of t'he community ; and if such interest as she had evinced had been of practical service she was amply repaid by the kindness she and her family had everywhere received. " I shall never in my life," said Her Ladyship; '-' forget the Tjpr-hearted friendship I have met with in New Zealand) and I can assure you I shall always look back on this country with affection, which words can never adequately express." Later. Lady Ranfurly and her two daughters left by the lonic this afternoon. Most of the business places in town closed their doors' between half-past three and five o'clock, and bunting flew from the shipping and other places in the city, and made the scene as gay as possible under a wet sky, with a drizzling rain falling. The embarkation of the Government House party took place at 4' tf'cjock • frpm liip riujwgy jpliarf, tjiß Government Janie Spdthm conveying the His Excellency the Gpvgmpr, and their family to the bjg Iter waiting "in the stream, while the Hinemoa took away the Premier, members of the Ministry, and a large party. The lonic was accompanied as far as the Heads by the Hinemoa and some of the Harbour steamers.
