MR NEWTON KING'S AUCTION REPORT. Cattle—At Waiwakaiho on Tuesday cattle came forward in advertised numbers. There was a small attendance, and bidding was quiet. Empty heifers made £3 9s to £3 14s, heifers in calf £4 19s 6d, springers £5 to £6, cows £6 2s Gd to £6 15s, bullocks £B. At Stoney River on Wednesday there was a good yarding and attendance, and nearly everything sold at fair prices. Calves made 27s 6d to £2, yearlings £2 8s to £2 18s 6d, yearling Jersey heifers £3 18s, springing heifers £4 18s 6d to £5 17s 6d, empty heifers £3 15s 6d to £4, store cows £3 12s 6d to £4, fat cows £5 2s to £5 9a, bulls £3 to £6 15s, small pigs 17s 6d to 19s. NEW ZEALAND LOAN & MEUCANTILE AGENCY CO., LTD, WEEKLY REPORT, Horses.—At the Durham Yards' on Fridai last there was a good entry, the attendance also being good. Friday last there was a tjood entry, to £4l ; medium do., £2l 5s to £36 ; light harness, £l2 10s to £2O--£5 10s to £l6 5s j weeds, £1 15s to £3 7s 6d. Cattle.—At the Newmarket Yards on Tuesday there was a good muster of dairy and storo stock, and an average supply of beef. Dairy cows sold from £4 10s to £8 15s ; dry cows, £2 17s to £4 7s ; calveß> £1 16s to £2 19s. Bidding for beef was scarcely as brisk as last week. Ox made up to 25s per 1001b ; cow selling frfttin 19s to 23s ; fat steers realised from £7 5s to £ll 7s 6d ; fat cows, £5 5s to £7 15s. Sheep were yarded in Jull numbers and met full competition. Fat wetkers sold from 15s 9d to 25b 9d ; ewes, 128 Od to 20s 3d. Lambs! yarded in full numbers, made from 10s 8d to 16s each.

Pigs.—Well represented. Young pigs sold from 12s 6d to 19s ; stores 14s to 25s ; heavy pigs. £2 10s to £4.

We held our usual sale at Papakura Yards on Wednesday of dairy and fat stock and bulls, over 400 head being yarded. Dairy cows cows sold from £4 10s to £9 ; fat cows, £5 5s to £7 10s ; bulls, £4 10s to £ll.

On the following day we held a special sale of store cattle ; there wa« a large muster, over 2300 head being yarded. Owing to the long spell of dry weather, prices were easier, more especially for grown cattle in fresh condition. Grown steers made from £5 15a to £8 7s 6d ; 2 to 3 year old do., £4 5s to £8 7s 6d ; empty cowß,£3lsa to £5 16s 6d ; heifers suitable for dairy purposes £4 10s to £5 10s ; calve?, 35s to £2 12s 6d. The cattle as a whole were a very good lot, showing both quality and breeding. Hides.—We submitted an average catalogue to-day, all lines being cleared at late rates. We quote : Prime ox, 7d to 8d ; extra gtout do., 6Jd to «ld ; stout do., sfd to 6id; medium do., 4id to o|d ; light do., 4id to 4f d ; stags, 2jd to 3d ; cow, picked, 41 d ; good, 4d to 4Jd ; calfskins, 4d to 4Jd.

Sheepskins.—No change U> report. We ojtote best batchers', 4s Sd to 4s lid ; country do., 3s 8d to 4s ; other line«, 2s to 3s 5d ; small and damaged, lOd to Is lOd.

Tallow.—Btest, 24b ; good, 21a 6d te 32p 6d ; seconds, 19b ; rouek fat. l*d.

Horsehair.—ls to Is 2d i tails, Is 5d ; bones, £4 lis.

Wool.—ln bags, crossbred, 5Jd to «id ; pieces, 3fd to 4|d ; crutchiinga 2Jd to 3 l-3d. Maize.—The market has weakened back to 2s sd, sales being made more freely with the south at the reduced prices.

Oats.—"D" grado are quoted at Is 8d c.i.f., but there is very little business passing. Chaff.—No alteration to report. Potatoes.—Weak at £2 15s on wharf.

Wheat.—ln poor demand, and the price has come back to 3s 6d c.i.f.

Butter.—ln lull supply, and market weak. Separator and dairy is worth from 6d to 7d per lb. Cheese.—New season's make now on the market, mediums being quoted at s|d, and loaf at CJd per lb. Auckland, Nov. 11, 1903. WELLINGTON GRAIN REPORT. Mr F. Pownall, of the N.Z. and Canterbury Farmers' Co-op. Associations, Wellington, reports as follows, all quotations being f.0.b., port of shipment, sacks extra, unless specified : Oats.—Shearing occupying fanners' attention, only store stocks of grain are niovimj. Exports over-sea are restricted to merchants' ventures, mostly Canadians, at Is ?d. Fair quantities of B grade Danish are finding outlets. Coastwise at Is 4d, Short Tartars Is sd, Dubs Is 6d, Gartons and Roseberrys le 7d, S. Bills Is Bd, Rejects Is 3d.

Wheat.—Millers continue to operate sparsely, with growers holding first qualities for above ruling value of 3s to 4s. A weakening is Inevitable as the season advances, with no outside market in view. Hard feed is active at 3s 3d to 3s 4d, soft s s seconds 2s <3d.

Potatoes.—Old keepers are stationary at £2 15s, s.i., new kidnejw are plentiful at Bs, round, 6s, h.i. Maize.—North are offering 2p 7d, f.0.b., s.i., with fair enquiry ; Argenttine offerin'g at 3s, c.i.f., si Barley.-Good feed remains at 2s 6d, malting Ss 9d, pear] barley £l3 10s, b.i.

Beans.-SuppKes are small, hard crushers selling at 88 6d Peas, p. Partridge cost 4s, Bin,

Prussians 6s, split peas £l4 b.i., pig meal £6 10s, s.i. Bran.—Value has deolined to £2 15s, s.i., with more available. Pollard has ready turnover at £3 Oatmeal.—Standard' brands are firm at £8 10s, s.i., for 25's ; rolled oats, £l2, c.i.f., s.i. Chaff.—Bright oat-sheaf is In good demand at 57s 6d, s.s., inferior 50s to 52s 6d, s.s,, straw chaff, nominally, 40s, s.r. Hay.—All-clover is worth 90s, ryeclover 57s 6d, pressed straw 355, f.o.b.

Grass Seed.—Rye is offering more freely at 4s to 5s 9d, cocksfoot scarce at 4d to sd, white clover 955, cowgrass 755. BUCKLAND AND SONS' REPORT. (Special to News). AUCKLAND, Nov. 13. Messrs Buckland and Son report as follows :

At the Bayraarket we sold draught colts from £32 to £4O, medium draught and express, horses £23 to £35, good hacks and harness £l6 10s to £26 10s, ordinary £5 15s to £l4. At Remuera dairy cows at late rates; stores in full number, and prices easier ; 2 to 3 year steers £4 10» to £6, yearlings £2 15s to £4, strong calves 30s to 40s. Beef in full supply, slightly lower. Steers sold up to 25s per hundred, cows to 225. Sheep—Short ; market advanced in value. Woolly wethers up to 27s 3d, shorn to 24s ,6d, owes to 20s, hoggets' to 15s, lambs 9s kl to 17s 6d. Pigs in average supply, and keert competition, LONDON MARKETS. LONDON, Nov. 10. The quantity of wheat and flour afloat is 1,870,000 quarters ; for the Continent, 1,535,000 quarters. The shipments from America and «Atlan« tic ports total 290,000 quarters ; Eight thousand five hundred quarters of South Australian wheat, February shipment, sold at 30s 9d.
