Tho Home team added 152 to their overnight score with the loss of an additional live wickets, Hill raised his total to 116, and was dismissed by a brilliant catch by Braund. He was 190 minutes at the wickets and hit twelve fours. He gave no chance. Giffen soon followed Claxton, Jennings added 35. Recdman repeated first innings experience. The partnership of Evans and Jennings was fruitful and was responsible for several changes in the bowling. Rhodes, Keif Hirst, Arnold, Braund all tried. At 288 Evans letting fly Braund caught him at deep square leg. Newland assisted Jennings to play out time. Jennings, a youth of 19, lis a most promising batsman, and played confidently, with fine defence. Play ceased at 3 o'clock, 7 wickets being down for 343 and the match was drawn.
