FISCAL REFORM.
CANADIAN SUPPORT. PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. Received 3,10.20 p m. Ottawa, November 3, Hon. E. P. Roblin, Premier of Manitoba, atrongly favours Mr Chamberlain's ecbeme. He states that to make loyal Canadians it is necess lry to obtain preference for cereals ar,d agricultural products in the British markets. London, November 2. Mr Asquith, at Paisley, said that British trade, as a whole, was healthy and steadily increasing. Birmingham, the Mecca of fitcal orthodoxy, had just followed London's example by ordering tram rails from Belgium. Dumping was a protectionist nightmare. He denied that dumping had been the caus? of any substantial displacement of British capital. Interference with the colonies' fiscal autonomy would destroy the Empire. The utmost the colonies offered was prefprence against foreign imports. Such lopsided preference must lead to heart-burning in the colonies and bitter resentment amoog home operatives.
