WEST END SCHOOL BAZAAR.
The bazaar held in the West End School yesterday was a m ist successful affair. By the time of opening a large crowd had gathered and the general arrangements for the baziar were very generally admired. A splendid show of work prepared by the child-on, their parents and friends, was to be seen in the large west wing in the oautre room. A splendid afternoon tea was served. In the infant room was fixed up a Christmas tree, w|iile a cake and lollie stall occupied a central position in the hrge lobby, which is common to all the rooms. A 1: 2.30 Mr AUsworth, the Oti airman of the Education Board k ad-1 dr<asei those present, congratulating the school on its OQntmusd success, and the committee on the progress nude since the school district was formed, and on the splendid collection of articles for sale, after which declared the bazaar open, and wisheu it every success. Business was brisk all the afternoon and evening, and we regret that we have to hold over a detailed reporc. Financially thq affiir was a great sue--0989, exceeding the expectations of the Committee to a considerable extent, and very great credit is due to Mrs Dowling, the head teacher, her assistants, and every one who took pare in miking the affiir such a pronounced success.
