Ernest Venn, fireman on the goods tram between Olutha and Dunedin, was killed to-day by striking the bridge between {Stirling and Benhar. Venn stood up on the tonder to trim the coal and was struck in passing the bridge and was shockingly mutilated. He had only be6n married about two months. A guard was killed under the same bridge some years ago.
