WESLEYAN MAORI MISSION.
The annual Home Mi-sion ssrvicfs were held at the Whiti-Ly Memorial Ohurch on Sunday and were largely attended. The Rev. L. E. Hammond, of Pales, was the morning preacher, .and he took for bis text Romans Y. verses 1 to 3, " Ye, thea that are strong, etc." He pleaded that a broader Christian charity should be extended to the Maori people, and that thi pakehas, who wero largely responsible for degrading the native rac, should cn-operate with those who had baen unt to labour amongst those people. I'hu Rev. Haddon gave a very interesting address in the afternoon, which ■•van much appreciated by the scholars of the Suridiy School. Toe evening sirvice was largely att3nded, and the Rev. Haadon by his splendid address proved the wonderful transformation I that had come over his own people by | the Goapel. Taking as his text [Christ's c-tll to Levi, "Leave all and [follow m '," he manifested a familiarity (vith Bible narrative that put many of h : s white brothers to shame. The ■ Home M'snon meeting will be held in : the Whi'eley Hall this (Monday) even- 1 ; o£f, when addresses bearing on the Maori work will he given by the Ravs ' Hammond and Haddon.
