REV G- H COLE'S MISSIONThe meetings in aid of the mission conducted by the Kev. G. H. Oole were brought to a close yesterday. At the Bible reading in the afternoon the subject was " The Withered Fig Tree," and a very interesting and profitable meeting resulted. There was an excellent attendance, The children's meeting was also well attended and Mr Oole a very interesting address on the Palm Tree. The evening meeting was a fitting finale to a suocessful week's work. Financially, after paying all the expenses of the mission, Mr Cole takes.£ss clear as New Plymouth's contribution to the good work he is engaged in. The rev. gentleman's address on "The Motherhood of God" was a powerful, earnest, elrquent, and heart-searching appeal, which will long be remembered by those who heard it. The Bov. Mr Cole's mission, besides rousing interest in his work, has done a great deal of good in rousing those who heard him to a sense of their responsibility to their fellows, and the thought arises whether something should not be done in this colony on the lines adopted in Yictoria, Mr Cole leaves by the mail train this morning for Palmerston North, and will carry with him the good wishes of many whom he has met during his all too short a stay in New Plymouth,
