FIRES.
PEE PHESS ASSOCIATION. Wellington, October 16. Two fires occurred at Newtown early this morning. The shop and dwelling of H, G, Brooker were damaged by fire an 1 water. The building was insured for £ioo in the New Zeahnd office, and the conjbtnas for .£350 in the Guardian office. The second fire resulted in the de? struotion of a five-roamed cottage owned by J. Ooy, and occupied by Sergt.Major Kimmins. The contents were insured in the Liverpool, London and Globe for £2OO. Insurance on the house not known.
