BOWLING.

At the meeting of the North Island Association on Tuesday, Mr L. Simmons was elected president. ISo action was taken on the question of establishing a Bowling Association. The rules requiring bowls to be tested and forbidding a player to follow his bowl for more than 10 feet were adopted. January 11th was fixed for opening the Auckland Tournament, and thereat the rule as to testing bowls may be suspended if it cannot ba carried out. The Australian Club is to be invited to ■send rinks. The Association's banner and shield is to go to the elub wincing the inter-club matches if that club is affiliated, but, if not, then to the winner of the final between affiliated clubs.
